Fire Services

Fire Services is part of the Operations Department. In total, the Operations Department is comprised of Emergency Management, Fire Services, Licenses and Inspections, and Public Services. The Executive Director of Operations is responsible for managing each of these divisions. 

The Fire Services Team works closely with Licensing & Inspections, Emergency Management, the Police Department and Narberth Ambulance to further ensure the protection of life and property of our citizens, visitors, and businesses. The Borough of Conshohocken employs part-time firefighters and two (2) full-time career firefighters, who also serve as the Borough's fire inspectors. Fire inspectors are tasked with performing annual inspections on fire alarms and fire protection systems in new and/or existing commercial buildings within the Borough of Conshohocken. State and local fire codes require that every business receive a regular fire inspection.  

Fire Services for Conshohocken also consists of two volunteer fire stations, Washington Fire Company No. 1 and Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2. Both fire companies operate under station 55, and provide volunteer firefighting services to the Borough of Conshohocken. Conshohocken Borough Council allocates and distributes annual funds to each fire company, which is used to support maintenance, compliance testing, and purchasing equipment.

The below positions are appointed by Borough Council and receive annual stipends. All other members within each fire company serve as volunteer firefighters.

• 1 Deputy Fire Marshal
• 1 Fire Chief 
• 1 Deputy Chief 
• 2 Assistant Fire Chiefs (one from each fire company)
• 2 Safety Officers (one from each fire company)
