Juneteenth

President Biden is expected to sign a bill, the Juneteenth National Independence Act, into law this afternoon, Thursday, June 17, 2021. The bill will formally establish Juneteenth as a federal holiday, which will be observed on June 19 each year. The holiday commemorates June 19, 1865, the day that the last enslaved African Americans were granted their freedom, ending slavery in the United States.

As a result, all Conshohocken Borough facilities, including Borough Hall and the Community Center at the Fellowship House will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 18, 2021, in observance of Juneteenth. Please be advised that there will also be no trash pick-up tomorrow. Trash and recycling services will be collected as normally scheduled next week.
