The Conshohocken Borough Civil Service Commission seeks applicants to establish a career Firefighter eligibility list.  Interested applicants must meet all requirements of the attached job description.

Application packets are available at the Conshohocken Borough Municipal Building, 400 Fayette Street, Suite 200, Conshohocken, PA 19428, Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.  Completed applications must be delivered to the Conshohocken Borough Municipal Building no later than 4:00 PM on March 5, 2026 (no electronic submissions will be accepted).  The Borough and the Civil Service Commission assume no responsibility for applications submitted by mail.

Conshohocken Borough Civil Service rules and regulations apply to testing.   

Pre-employment requirements include: written exam, oral exam, background investigation, physical agility, and medical and psychological exam.

  • The date of the written exam is March 17, 2026, at 10:00 am. Study materials for the exam are Fire Fighter 1 (NFPA 1001): Essentials of Fire Fighting,” IFSTA, Seventh Edition (ISBN 9780879396572). 
  • Candidates who pass the written examination will be scheduled for a physical agility test on March 25, 2026, at 10:00 am.
  • Candidates who pass both the written and physical agility tests will be scheduled for an oral examination. The date of the oral exam is March 31, 2026.
  • Interviews start at 9:00 am, and candidates will be notified of his/her interview time slot on that date as applicable. Note that Wednesday, April 1, 2026, will be utilized for an interview date as needed, depending on the final number of candidates.

Written and oral exams will take place at the Conshohocken Borough Municipal Building at 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Physical Agility testing will take place at the Montgomery County Fire Academy.

Applicants must possess a diploma from an accredited H.S. or GED, a valid PA driver’s license, be a U.S. citizen, and be at least 21 years old prior to the completed application submission deadline.

 Note that complete applications must include the following items (as noted in the job description):

  1. Copy of a government issued Birth Certificate
  2. Copy of a valid Driver’s License
  3. Copy of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  4. For Veterans: a copy of a service honorable discharge (DD214 Form)
  5. Signed Physical Agility Waiver
  6. Copies of the following certifications
         NFPA 1001 Firefighter I certification or equivalent
         Vehicle Rescue Technician or equivalent
         Hazardous Materials Operations Level
         Pump Operations Course
         EVOC for Fire Service “Pumper Apparatus”
         CPR, AED, and First Aid
