Aqua will begin construction to replace aging cast iron pipes in Conshohocken Borough beginning September 27, 2021 with an expected completion in December. The below areas will be affected.

  • W 12th Avenue from Wood Street to Freedly Street
  • Freedly Street from W 12th Avenue to W 11th Avenue
  • Wood Street from W 10th Avenue to W 9th Avenue
  • W 9th Avenue to Maple Street
  • Maple Street from W 8th Avenue to W 11th Avenue

The new water main will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.

Construction will generally take place weekdays between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm. Access will be provided for emergency, mail, and trash service. Construction may also take place on Saturdays in some cases. Residents will have access to their properties, but at times will need to enter from different directions due to changing work zones.

Following installation, the new main will be flushed, chlorinated and tested for water quality before being placed into service. During the chlorination/testing phase, activity on the job site will be limited. Once the water quality testing has been completed, each water service and fire hydrant will be transferred to the new main. Please note that the trench will be covered with temporary blacktop at the end of each workday.

Aqua will notify customers ahead of any planned water service interruptions and will provide 48 hours advance notice for any scheduled interruption greater than 30 minutes.

Residents should contact Aqua directly for more information at 215-659-2505. You may also contact Aqua’s customer service line at 877-987-2782.
