Borough Council will hold a public hearing at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, in Borough Hall, located at 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428 to consider a petition to vacate a certain street in the Borough as set forth below.  The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment and public testimony regarding the petition to vacate the street identified below and the adoption of an ordinance associated therewith.  The petition was filed by 400 West Elm LLC.

The area proposed to be vacated is a portion of Corson Street bordered by those certain properties owned by 400 West Elm LLC, which properties are located to the southwest of the intersection of Corson Street with West Elm Street and northeast of the Schuylkill River Trail in the Borough.  The specific area to be vacated comprises approximately 2,691 square feet, and is more particularly described in the metes and bound description, and plan, attached to the ordinance identified below.  The vacated area would be used to provide access to the parking area for a multifamily residential building to be constructed to either side of the area of Corson Street proposed to be vacated.  The petition states that petitioner is the sole owner of all properties abutting the portion of Corson Street proposed to be vacated.

Petition to Vacate Portion of Corson Street

After the hearing, Borough Council will consider enactment of the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CONSHOHOCKEN, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF A PUBLIC ROAD KNOWN AS CORSON STREET LOCATED TO THE SOUTHWEST OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH WEST ELM STREET AND NORTHEAST OF THE SCHUYLKILL RIVER TRAIL IN THE BOROUGH OF CONSHOHOCKEN, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

The ordinance would vacate the portion of Corson Street identified above, thereby reverting title to the right-of-way to the petitioner as the owner of the abutting properties.  The ordinance authorizes the proper Borough officials to execute such documents as shall be necessary or desirable to clarify and establish title to the vacated area of Corson Street to the petitioner.  The ordinance contains a severability clause and an effective date.
