Starting the week of December 16, 2024, PECO will be replacing existing natural gas equipment with new underground pipes on Maple Street between West Elm Street and West 1st Avenue and West 1st Avenue between Forrest Avenue and Maple Street.
All work will be done Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please expect traffic and delays in the area during this timeframe.
This project has an expected completion date of March 2025.
For residents in the affected area:
Most of the work will be performed outside; however, to safely connect your property to the new natural gas main, PECO or a PECO contractor will need to turn off the natural gas service and then enter your property to relight your appliances after the connection. PECO will need access to the natural gas appliances or equipment in your home so they can perform this work and, later that day, restore service and relight any appliances. At this time, PECO will also be relocating any indoor natural gas meters to the exterior of the building to a location above ground and as close as practical to the existing indoor location.
